I hate it when Wednesdays

I hate it when....

... we feel the summer heat at the END of summer.

... you dance for a few hours, and you go to use the restroom and the damn toilet seat covers stick to your butt.

... you only have one dollar left in your wallet.

... you're at a cypher and everyone is just looking at each other, waiting for someone else to jump in.

... people have a preconceived notion of who you are, when they don't really understand.

... pms comes around.

... you run to the bus stop, but when you get there the bus is already leaving.


damn you hump day.

Proud to be an American

Everytime I hear someone singing the Star Spangled Banner,
I can't help getting so emotional.

I look at time standing still for a second,
while our flag waves proudly.
I start to look at everyone,
all the Americans,
of many colors, sizes, ethnicities
in the same room without any segregation.
I start to think about how far this country has come
and how much it has accomplished.
I start to think how lucky I am
to be in a country where I can be free,
and feel so proud.
I listen to the song bird who was honored
to be chosen to sing this sacred song
and all its powerful lyrics.
I feel that every American at that moment
is connected.


Then Keri Hilson goes to the Laker Game and messes up the lyrics to the National Anthem.

We should definitely take away her citizenship....
or kick her out of America.
